The Society was first founded in 1957, as St Marys Dramatic Society, and it began life with a production of Lennox Robinsons
"The White-Headed Boy". Over the years we have staged many well know plays from the pens of Irish Masters such
as Sean OHare, Brendan Behan, Brian Friel, JB Keane, Hugh Leonard, Frank McGuinness and the internationally known playwrights,
Arthur Millar, Tennessee Williams, Edward Albee, Alan Ayckbourne, John Mortimer, Philip King and Falkland Carey, as well as
many lesser know writers. Our most recent production was Oscar Wilde's "Lady Windermere's Fan which was greatly enjoyed
by our regular and occasional patrons
The Society over the years, entered the One-Act Festivals with a fair measure of success - we have had many individual and
group awards to our credit - and indeed we hosted a Festival in Lucan on a few occasions. We have also produced a number
of pantomimes, when a suitable venue became available to us.
We are affiliated to Drama League of Ireland, and our membership gives us access to Summer Schools, Library Service, Resource
Database, Workshops and the Magazine. We ourselves also organize occasional workshops on various aspects of drama conducted
by guest tutors or members with expertise in a Specific Area.
